Took my 7 yr old daughter to see her for anxiety. She was horrible to her, very rude and hateful. My daughter got upset and started to cry, when she was done with her tissue she got up to put it in the trash, she told her that was a $1000 tissue and she better hang on to it because she wasnt done yet and told her she better not find it laying on her floor afterwards. My child is not a troubled child, nor does she behave badly, just EXTREMELY shy and has some anxiety. Made things worse!
I've never been so disrespected in my life! She accused me of lying because apparently someone as small as myself can't eat as much as I do. When I told her my dad's side of the family is skinny and tall she replied with "No, there's no way. You're underweight to the point you're anorexic. It's unhealthy." First, asking me what I ate the previous day had nothing to do with the reason I was there. AT ALL. I know I'm small. I'm 5'3 and 92lbs. My weight is something I've always struggled with and have been insecure about, and for her to throw it in my face like that was uncalled for. I couldn't even finish my session because she had me in tears to the point I had to leave. I don't know who gave this woman her license, but it needs to be taken away. From the looks of it, I'm not the only person she's treated this way. Please, for the love of God, don't waste your time going to this pathetic excuse of a human being.
This woman is an abosolute joke and should not be able to practice what she calls “psychology”. I had a mental evaluation this morning for disability and this is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She thought she knew more about my life than I did and kept talking over me. I have been diagnosed by REAL doctors with chronic panic disorder with agoraphobia and depresssion, as well as dysautonomia. At the end of my evaluation she says no caffeine and sugar will fix me. Not to mention I started having a panic attack during the evaluation and I mentioned being dizzy and she spouted off “you can get up and leave if you don’t want to be here”. If anyone reading this is considering seeing this hateful creature please think again and don’t waste your money. I think it’s time for her mental evaluation. She has been reported to Alabama’s board of examiners in psychology.
She was very rude and made the comment that basically because I'm black ,black people wear wigs and get their hair braided and wear fake hair. She must not know the history of wigs. She is a stereotyper and heartless. I wish I would have read these other comments cause I would have never went to her. If you don't enjoy doing your job it's time for you to quit because there's no need to make other people more miserable than we already are. We come to you for help, not to be stumped on.what I eat has nothing to do with my mind.
Ms Bodenheimer is VERY overbearing.. so much so that it is suffocating to be in the same room w her. She also told me my panic attacks, anxiety, and mental health diagnosis were caused by drinking too much sugar and caffeine.. and could also be contributed to not eating breakfast.. i could not get a word in because she was too busy telling me about her husband and their life of exercise and no sugar ..i basically spent $160 to hear that sugar is bad and how her exercise schedule is the best! needless to say i left feeling worse than i already was.. crying in my car on the way home thinking maybe i am crazier than i originally thought! when i made an appt w another therapist i told them id went to her and as i speak her name the receptionist how's ohh lord! bless your heart! so i know i cannot be the only one who has had problems w her methods.. as a person im sure she's great........ but not as a therapist!
